Recently I asked a new Rang™ E-155 Chorus*Delay owner to give me an honest opinion of our pedal, telling him to pull no punches. Here's his response.
"I am running it wet in the parallel loop. First impressions: The chorus is gorgeous. I have a bad history and a lot of baggage with chorus effects. Most just don't feel organic to me and cause me to play funny when engaged. This thing yields a very natural-feeling vibey sound that doesn't screw up the tubey goodness. It seems to color the tone by complimenting it rather than covering/reshaping it. I like all three settings with 'shimmer' being my first impression favorite. E-155 chorus (in a wet/dry loop) is my new chorus standard.
P.S. To me this thing beats up on my Fulltone Deja-Vibe pretty severely and beats my T.C. piece to death. Allowing for only one session this will probably be my new standard.
It's hard to say much about the delays. They do exactly what I expect high end delays to do and they do it in a way that doesn't distract me from my core tones. I am sorry if that sounds understated but it is to me the best compliment I can give an effect. Absolutely excellent. The chorus and delay play very well together. Beautiful. Eleven presets, one pedal; fantastic."
